International Steiner Symposium: 8th – 10th October
The Actuality of Rudolf Steiner: An Interdisciplinary Exploration of
Steiner in the 21st Century
Registration now open here: International Steiner Symposium
Rudolf Steiner wrote and spoke prolifically about a wide range of areas, from social and political theory to philosophy, from spirituality to ethics, and from education to biodynamics. A common thread in this vast corpus of work was Steiner himself pointing out that everything he wrote and said was contextually
bound by his experiences and surroundings, inviting the question: What can be learnt from Steiner’s works which can help us understand today’s society and our role within it?
This symposium seeks to address this question through an interdisciplinary collection of papers and contributions dealing critically and constructively with Steiner’s work. As such, it sits within the Institute for Education and Social Innovation’s (ibugi) broader research project of the same title: The Actuality of Rudolf Steiner.
The symposium will be held online over 3 days, from 08/10/2021 to 10/10/2021. Holding the symposium online enables international contributions and participation.
The open call for papers invites contributions of 20-30 minutes from areas including, but not limited to:
– Identity and gender
– Ethics
– Political and social theory
– Philosophy and epistemology
– Education
– Social change and innovation
– Arts and aesthetics
If you are interested in contributing to the symposium please send an abstract of no more than 300 words by 02/08/2021 to Dr. Andrew Brogan (ab@ibugi.de). Extended deadline: 27/08/21. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. There is no participation fee as either contributor or participant.
